After Hurricanes, Florida Executive Order Allows Marina Repairs Without DEP Permits

Florida’s Governor signed an executive order that allows owners of marinas, docks, and piers to make repairs without having to wait for a permit from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Provided the structures were legally there prior to the hurricane, the order allows owners of these structures to repair or replace them to their original condition and in their original configuration. In addition, debris, trash, structural remains and even sunken vessels can be removed.

Owners should contact their local DEP for further information and instruction. Contacts can be found here: http://dep.state.fl.us/secretary/dist/default.htm
