The FIRE FOAM AFLOAT™ system uses FOAM-FAST™ cartridges and a 12-volt DC Sureflo™ high pressure pump to provide marinas with a portable class-A foam system. Each Cartridge will supply up to approximately one hour of foamed water. The company says this class-A foam enhanced water is up to five times as effective as plain water and adheres to vertical surfaces, thus inhibiting the fire from spreading. The foam is also non-toxic, biodegradable, water soluble and non-staining.
ERC Wiping Products Inc. has further expanded its line of microfiber products to include non-woven microfiber wipers at 28 cents each. Microfiber wipers are low-cost enough to be used as a disposable wiper yet durable enough for machine washing, according to the company. Like microfiber towels, the wipers are lint-free, non-abrasive and absorbent, and can clean with little or no chemicals. ERC says microfiber wipers are ideal for cleaning windows, fiberglass and various fixtures on boats and for removing dirt and dust in hard to reach places and tight corners. The non-woven microfibers are approximately 13” x 13” and are available in white.
Rosenthal Industries introduces “Neptune Decking,” a polymer encapsulated steel decking that supports 2,915 lbs. per sq. ft. The company says it’s the only decking with the ability to customize a marina’s docks with adjustable built-in accessories, such as cleats with solar lights, line caddy and fender brackets. The decking is available in a choice of colors and patterns with panels in seven sizes. The perforated, non-skid decking is low or no maintenance. Neptune Decking is impervious to stains, saltwater, fire, heat and UV rays and has a projected life cycle of 46 years with a 25-year warranty. It averages $0.6 per sq. ft. to install.
Formapile offers a patented system that allows marinas to convert old deteriorated pilings into fully functional poles without having to replace them. Formapile was designed for installation on timber piles to strengthen and prevent further damage from the marine borer activity. With the Formapile system, there is no removal of decking, no loud barges and installation does not require a permit. The company said the system has been used in commercial and residential applications for more than 30 years. The formulated HDPE product is environmentally friendly, and it stops the chemicals that are used to treat the piles from leaching into the water.
Bird-X Inc. offers a large selection of pest and bird repellent products for marinas. Its bird deterrents range from laser technology to ultrasonic/sonic bird control, goose and pigeon repellents, bird spikes, bird netting animal sound repellers and taste aversion gels and solutions. With the Hamilton Transaction Kiosk there is no need for attendants. There are multiple opportunities for increased revenue including, season passes, cash and credit card sales on a per use basis, and selling advertising through the video screen and the use of promotional coupons.
ADP Lightspeed announced its newly redesigned Marina Management Software within LightspeedEVO, the company’s Marine Dealer Management System (DMS). Facilities can now rely on a single software solution to manage complete marina operations. Having operation activities tracked separately creates missed opportunities, confusion and unnecessary costs. The ADP development team put particular focus on slip transfers, multiple unit rentals and flexible billing. The new systems allows marinas to change slip reservations with graphical drag and drop functionality, to track multiple units (i.e. boat, PWC, trailer, etc.) within a single rental, and to adjust billing options to fit customer preferences and match services provided.
Brownell Boat Stands introduces two new products to help make sterm drive removal and storage simple. The Stern Drive Installation Jack and Racks are ideal for any boatyard or service facility. The heavy-duty SD-1 Stern Drive Installation Jack makes the installation and removal of stern drive units an easy, one-man job. The unit tilts on three axes to properly align the holes and fasteners. It features pneumatic wheels.
The company’s Stern Drive Racks are available in two sizes. The #SD-7 is a two-tier rack that accommodates seven stern drives; four on the first tier and three on the second. It measures 49″ W x 24″ D x 60″ H. The #SD-4 is a single-tier rack that accommodates four stern drives. It measures 49″ W x 24″ D x 22″ H. They can be easily moved around a shop on 5″ casters. To prevent scratching, any area of the products that comes in contact with a stern drive is coated in rubber.
With a marked increase in the theft of boats and trailers, the Trailer Trap introduces a stationary anti-theft device that quickly and easily provides up to four layers of protection.
