MMTA’s KIDS Boating Day to Be Held June 2 to 10

“Massachusetts KIDS Boating Day” will be held June 2 to 10. The Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) encourages businesses and organizations to hold youth boating and fishing events to introduce kids to these life-long activities. This is the second year MMTA has promoted the event, with this year’s program running for nine days instead of just one.

The dates coincide with Great Outdoors Month and National Fishing and Boating Week, both of which promote outdoor family-friendly activities. Three events have been confirmed with more events expected to be added. Organizers hope to have at least a dozen events. Those confirmed are “Touch a Boat” at Nantucket Boat Basin and Newburyport and “Get Hooked” youth fishing tournament also in Newburyport.

The MMTA’s objective with KIDS Boating Day is to introduce new kids to boating and fishing in a safe and smart manner with the goal of having the kids become the future for the marine industry. For more information and to register an event visit www.masskidsboatingday.org.
