Following approval and final review of all plans, construction will begin in the first quarter of 2008 on Phase I of the extraordinary 450-wet slip marina at Liberty Harbor, the new $2B, 155-acre luxury waterfront development, it was announced by Gary Waxman, Principal of Liberty Harbor, LLC.  Liberty Harbor is situated on the Brunswick River just 4.6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean in Brunswick, GA.   This spectacular new marina will not only be the largest marina between Charleston, SC and Miami, FL, but it will also offer unparalleled convenience, because of its proximity to the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as exceptional array of amenities.

The Liberty Harbor Yacht Club will overlook the marina and will offer a host of water sports, entertainment and dining options. Boaters, fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy the beautiful boardwalk, fishing pier and outdoor pavilion.  Perhaps the most spectacular aspect of the marina, though, is its location.

Mr. Waxman and the development team worked closely with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the United States Coast Guard to create an environmentally sensitive marina.  Additionally, the development team funded a study by Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology Bioacoustics Research Program to help locate and better protect the endangered right whales that use the waters off of Brunswick as calving areas.  The Liberty Harbor and Yacht Club will provide education and training programs for clients that focus on safe boating practices that stress awareness and protection of endangered marine life.
