Septech wins Dubai Marina contract

Septech, which markets, manufactures and installs floating concrete dock systems under license from Bellingham Marine Australia (BMA), will design and build the 116-berth Yacht Club Marina, which is due for completion summer 2008, as well as the Marina Mall waterfront and West Marina. All three marinas will be fully operational with power and metering services by 2009 according to the Web site www.sail-world.com.

Paul Lane, marine division manager at Septech Emirates, says the company was awarded the contract due to its 11-year track record, local manufacturing facilities and partnership with Bellingham Marine Australia (BMA), one of the largest marina design and installation companies worldwide.

“Our association with BMA and the purpose-built factory in Ajman where we manufacture and design custom engineered pontoons to suit individual client needs allow us to fast-track any project over its normal construction schedule,” Lane said. “Also, with advanced production techniques being incorporated into our operations, Septech Emirates marine business is growing four-fold annually.”

Once completed, Dubai Marina will offer 600 berths for vessels up to 120 feet across four marinas, including 180 berths at East Marina. Septech Emirates will install Bellingham's Unifloat pontoons, a floating concrete dock system that is said to cause no harm to marine life. Slip side services will include electricity and water, and an on-site pump-out dock for easy access by visitors.
