Study Shows Miami Boat Show Adds Millions to the Economy

Reflecting the new venue on Virginia Key, a new economic impact study of the Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show® shows a 40 percent increase in impact over a similar study conducted in 2013.

Thomas J. Murray & Associates, Inc., in conjunction with the University of Florida, conducted the 2017 study, which showed an annual $854.2 million economic impact from the Miami Boat Show. The overall economy benefits from 6,000 full-time jobs totaling $289.6 million, $53 million in visitor spending for the show, and approximately $56.9 million in sales and excise taxes. It is also estimated that exhibitors sell nearly $350 million in marine products at the boat show each year.

The 2018 Miami International Boat Show will be held February 15 to 19 at the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin. This year Strictly Sail Miami has joined with the show, adding sailboats and catamarans to the regularly featured powerboats.
