Wisconsin Clean Marina Wins Award

The Wisconsin Clean Marina program has been named the 2017 Organization Champion under the Lake Michigan Champions of Conservation awards.

Sponsored by the Lake Michigan Stakeholders and the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, the annual awards recognize outstanding projects and programs to protect and enhance the lands surrounding and the waters of Lake Michigan, as well as individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence.

The clean marina program was recognized for the guidance, and training they provide to area marinas to keep the waterways clean through best management practices and regulatory compliance. The sponsors press release cited, “They recognize how minimizing pollution helps protect resources essential to their livelihoods—clean air, water, and healthy fish and wildlife.”
