MMTA Produces Video To Support “Stay Local Boat Ma” Campaign

The Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) announced a new video highlighting the business of boating in Massachusetts and their Stay Local Boat Ma program. Every dollar spent of dockage equates to almost four dollars for the local economy, which is a key statistic in promoting the program and the overall recreational boating industry in Massachusetts. Boating does mean business, as boaters are spending money not only on dockage, but also on shopping, dining, lodging and more.

The Stay Local Boat MA program was created in 2009 to help market and promote travel to destination marinas throughout the state. The program encourages group travel by offering discounts on dockage ranging from 10% to 20%. Participating marinas agree to offer these discounts to boaters from other registered marinas.

The Massachusetts office of Travel & Tourism provided the recovery grant funding investment for the Stay Local Boat Ma initiative in 2021. For more information on the Stay Local Boat Ma program and or to register your marina visit www.staylocalboatma.com or contact MMTA Executive Director Randall Lyons at Randall@boatma.com or (774) 404-8005.
