Haulover Park Marina Unveils Infrastructure Upgrades
Published on March 2, 2026One of Miami-Dade County’s busiest boat ramp and marina sites recently announced the completion of nearly $13.8 million in infrastructure improvements. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 9, the park and marina reopened to the public with upgraded boat ramps and docks, increased parking space, new drainage, lighting and signage. The project improved accessibility by increasing parking by 291 spaces, including 20 EV charging stations. The improvements also boosted the marina’s resilience to storm and tidal activity with new concrete floating docks in place of the old fixed docks, as well as site design improvements such as elevated parking areas and access roadways.
“Investments like this ensure our waterfront remains accessible to the public, and resilient to flooding,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava., “These improvements strengthen Haulover Park Marina’s ability to serve the community today while preparing for future conditions.”
The investment was funded through the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond, Florida Inland Navigational District Grant and Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department funding sources.
“Haulover Park Marina is a vital recreational and economic asset for our community,” said Micky Steinberg, District 4 commissioner. “By investing in modern, resilient infrastructure, we are enhancing public access, improving safety, and protecting one of our most heavily used waterfront facilities from future flooding and storm impacts for years to come.”
Home to more than 300 parks and more than 40,000 acres of natural areas, the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces (PROS) is one of the largest park systems in the United States.
