Maine Boat Yard Expansion

Brooklin Boat Yard, an employee-owned boat restoration company, recently received a $1.5 million award in funding to construct a new service and technology building. The funding comes by way of Maine Technology Institute (MTI) as part of a program to drive growth in Maine’s innovation economy, through interest-free loans with a matching funds requirement, with potential for loan forgiveness pending financial performance. The new building will allow the boat yard to take on additional new build, restoration and service projects and hire 10 additional employees.

The new facility will include a clean space for composite projects, a machine shop and a 3D printing workshop. The new 7,250-square-foot building seeks to promote Maine as a leader in craftsmanship, boat-building and marine innovation.
