Forked Creek Yacht Club Earns Clean Marina Certification
Published on July 3, 2026Forked Creek Yacht Club in Anne Arundel County is the newest Maryland Clean Marina Partner. After attending a Clean Marina seminar last winter, club board members led the process by creating emergency response plans, installing a spill response kit, and educating members about pollution prevention practices for boaters.
The following Maryland Clean Marinas completed their required re-certification this spring:
- Safe Harbor Bohemia Vista
- Safe Harbor Hack’s Point
- Bush River Yacht Club
- Bay Boat Works
- Rogue’s Harbor at Elk Neck State Park
To learn about earning the Clean Marina Certification for your marina, visit the Maryland Department of Natural Resources website, and email donna.morrow@maryland.gov with any questions and to schedule an informal site visit. Marinas and boatyards are located at the water’s edge and can make a big difference in local water quality if they adopt pollution prevention measures.
