Program Significance
The City Docks Redevelopment Project represents a major coastal recovery and economic revitalization effort that transforms a storm‑damaged, underutilized waterfront into a modern, multipurpose hub for industry and community use. By combining a working marina, seafood market, boat launch and public event spaces, the project supports the region’s historic fishing economy while expanding tourism and recreational opportunities. It is funded through RESTORE Act dollars tied to the Deepwater Horizon recovery, making it a flagship example of using environmental settlement funds to rebuild local economies, improve resilience, and restore access to coastal resources, with projected long‑term economic gains and enhanced public waterfront access.
Anticipated Schedule :
- Solicitation Issuance: January 2027
- City Docks Grand Opening Start: Fall 2027
