Attendance up 30% at MMTA Conference

On January 26th the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) hosted its 17th annual Business of Boating (BOB) Conference at the Lakeview Pavilion in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Approximately 160 in-person attendees and more than 30 remote attendees attended this year’s event with in-person attendance up over 30% from last year.

The professional development conference sessions included: critical issues facing the industry such as workforce development, supply chain and inventory planning; national industry advocacy; employment law; social media marketing; government relations and legislative issues; technological changes within the industry; and more. The conference included two lunchtime presentations, one awarding Representative Joan Meschino as the 2022 MMTA Legislator of the Year. The second was a presentation and video looking back at the Mattapoisett boatyard fire of August 2022, with highlights of their plans for rebuilding in the coming year, and a positive update on an employee who was hurt in the fire.

Hosted by the MMTA, the BOB conference is planned and organized by a volunteer Conference Committee and the MMTA executive director Randall Lyons. The BOB Conference was made possible through sponsorships including 13 table sponsors and 57 annual sponsors of the MMTA.
