Bid on a Boat To Support Massachusetts Marine Trades Educational Trust

A fundraiser is underway for the Massachusetts Marine Trades Educational Trust (MMTET) to raise money for its programs to get more young people onto boats and working in the industry.  MMTET is an educational trust established under the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association.

A new 2016 Robalo R160 boat package with 70 HP Yamaha outboard engine and a trailer will go the highest bidder. The package was donated by 3A Marine in Hingham, Massachusetts, and Robalo Boats. Boating industry advocate Ed Lofgren is the owner of 3A Marine and a supporter of the work of MMTET.

Half of the proceeds will be used by the MMTET’s KIDS in BOATING initiative that supports non-profit youth boating programs, and the other half will help fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in the marine industry.

The auction is running online now through February 18 with the winner to be announced as part of the New England Boat Show. Last year’s fundraiser secured $20,000 for the educational trust. Those interested in placing a bid should click here . Donations are also accepted on this site.
