Boatsetter Partners With Suntex

Boatsetter, a leading marketplace for boat rentals and on-water experiences in the U.S., and Suntex Marina Investors, LLC, an owner and operator of best-in-class marina properties, announced a partnership to provide boat owners in the Boatsetter program with access to slips at select Suntex Marinas. Suntex has 70 locations and more than twenty thousand existing slips across an ever-growing portfolio of locations. This groundbreaking partnership will allow more boat owners to earn extra income to offset the costs of owning and maintaining a boat via Boatsetter’s sharing platform.

Boatsetter provides private boat owners with a way to safely and legitimately list their boats for rent, and its intuitive platform makes it simple to manage bookings. Boatsetter connects owners with renters and U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains and manages all the logistics to allow private boat owners to earn income. Some Boatsetter owners reported generating more than $100,000 in revenue.

Boating is a natural extension to the sharing economy, which has allowed people to turn homes, cars, RVs, swimming pools, and more into revenue generators. Boatsetter has a higher cohort revenue retention than the leading homesharing platform, meaning boat owners realize higher revenues year over year.

The company boasts the world’s only legally compliant and insured peer-to-peer boat rental platform, having partnered with GEICO and BoatUS to pioneer the first-ever peer-to-peer boat rental insurance policy in 2014. With the Suntex relationship, it has removed yet another barrier for entrepreneurs looking to participate in the sharing economy.
