Construction Continues on New Bahamas Marina

Construction continues on the new Legendary Marina Resort at Blue Water Cay in Nassau, Bahamas. Phase 1 of the project includes 49 wet slips and the Bahamas’ first dry stack facility.

While the Bahamas are a quintessential boating destination, the logistics of crossing the Gulf Stream to reach the islands has deterred some boaters in the past. The new Legendary Marina now offers boaters a haven with secured storage options and luxury amenities so they’re free to explore the Bahamas by water.

The project began as a conversation with Bahamian officials in 2021 and is slated for completion in 2025. Marina Technologies (MTI) is leading the construction of the new aluminum floating dock system as part of Phase 1 of the marina’s master plan. According to MTI, the new system has 3,415 linear feet of dockage and incorporates “heavy-duty aluminum frame construction, premium composite decking, multiple fuel docks, power pedestals, potable water and the ability to withstand heavy wave loads.” Construction of the facility included dredging the basin and a 12-foot-deep channel at the marina entrance. The project also includes a 65-foot-tall, Cat-5-hurricane-rated dry stack facility for storage of vessels up to 55 feet in length. Wet and dry slips are offered through one of the marina’s membership tiers, while the marina will also offer fuel and entertainment options to the public. Members of the resort will also have access to the oceanfront pool, luxury lodging, concierge services and dining options, which will be completed in the following phases of the master plan.
