Dammrich Honored at International Marina & Boatyard Conference

At the opening ceremony of the International Marina and Boatyard Conference, Thom Dammrich, president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, was recognized by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) for his nearly 20 years of service to the recreational boating industry. He was recognized for unifying the industry and elevating the status of marinas within the broader industry.

Jim Frye, AMI’s president emeritus thanked Thom by noting, “his contribution to marinas, our association and the entire recreational marine industry. We are all richer for the experience of knowing and working with him.  Nobody logged more miles on trains, planes, and automobiles in service of the marine industry than Thom Dammrich. He carried the industries’ agenda, not just the agenda of the manufacturers. Thom completely embraced the role that marinas play in hosting the boating experience, and marinas and boating access facilities became an important element of the NMMA advocacy agenda.”

In appreciation of Dammrich’s service, AMI will be making a donation to the Folds of Honor in Dammrich’s name. Since 2007, Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members.
