Forked Creek Yacht Club Earns Clean Marina Certification

Forked Creek Yacht Club in Anne Arundel County is the newest Maryland Clean Marina Partner.  After attending a Clean Marina seminar last winter, club board members led the process by creating emergency response plans, installing a spill response kit, and educating members about pollution prevention practices for boaters.

The following Maryland Clean Marinas completed their required re-certification this spring:

  1. Safe Harbor Bohemia Vista
  2. Safe Harbor Hack’s Point
  3. Bush River Yacht Club
  4. Bay Boat Works
  5. Rogue’s Harbor at Elk Neck State Park

To learn about earning the Clean Marina Certification for your marina, visit the Maryland Department of Natural Resources website,  and email donna.morrow@maryland.gov with any questions and to schedule an informal site visit. Marinas and boatyards are located at the water’s edge and can make a big difference in local water quality if they adopt pollution prevention measures.
