Fort Myers Yacht Club Reopens After Hurricane Ian

Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida, is back open after being destroyed by Hurrican Ian in late 2022. Golden Marine Systems recently completed Phase 1 of Gulf Harbour’s renovation project, 18 months after the devastating storm. The project includes 101 new slips to accommodate vessels up to 88 feet in length.

Midcoast Marine installed Golden’s 950 series double track docks for the main section and 850 series double track system for the finger piers. Finishing touches include the Endeck Ashwood decking and fascia and 16-inch custom cleats featuring the Gulf Harbour logo. The docks also include custom utility troughs with removable panels for improved utility access, adjustable pile guides and heavy-duty D-fenders for improved cushion.

“We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have been entrusted with the task of replacing the floating docks at such a prestigious community,” said Mike Shanley, president of Golden Marine Systems. “Following the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, the Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club members were eager to restore order to their marina, and we wasted no time in getting to work.”
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dana Snyder of the Gulf Harbour Marina Association expressed gratitude on behalf of the marina and commended the Golden team for their speed and efficiency.
