Galati Yacht Sales Expands Lifting Capacity With New Marine Travelift

Galati Yacht Sales (GYS) in Anna Maria, Florida, increased its yard’s lifting capacity to 187,000 pounds with the installation of a new 85 BFMII mobile boat hoist from Marine Travelift. Its new unit is the fourth Marine Travelift machine this location has had and replaces an older 75 BFM Marine Travelift machine on-site that had a lifting capacity of 165,000 pounds. The additional lift capacity is necessary as customers’ demands for larger boats continue to increase. Galati Yacht Sales can haul and handle vessels up to 82 feet. This Galati location, one of 11 throughout the Gulf Coast region, specializes in new and brokerage luxury yacht sales and service. A family owned and operated business has built its reputation on the “Galati Difference.” This is a term used to describe the level of service Galati believes each one of its clients deserve and its Marine Travelift equipment continues to be a big part of that.

“Our previous 2004 Marine Travelift was in great shape,” said Mike Galati, head of the customer support team for GYS. “However, as the average size of boats we sell continues to increase, we need a lift that can handle the larger size. Our marina facility is set up to handle larger yachts as we have the capacity, slips and docks, area on the hard and service team, but until we added the new boat hoist our lift capacity was limiting us.”

The Marine Travelift 85 BFMII is designed with a similar footprint to its previous 75-ton unit, making the upgrade seamless and compatible with its facility’s infrastructure. The new 85 BFMII mobile boat hoist offers the latest in innovation, technology and performance. Galati’s unit is equipped with a wireless remote control, which includes digital machine information readouts, a top beam extension for improved clearance for all vessels, LED lights for visibility in all weather conditions and custom Galati paint colors.

Another key feature that has resulted in increased efficiency for GYS is Marine Travelift’s standard intelligent remote diagnostics. “The Bluetooth technology gives us the ability to ‘phone home’ and receive remote diagnostics from Marine Travelift CustomerCare team. That has been a huge advantage for us, as we hone the performance of the new lift,” Galati said.
