IBEX Releases Hurricane Session Proceedings

The International BoatBuilders Exhibition (IBEX) released video and hardcopy proceedings from the Special Hurricane Session that was held during IBEX 2017 in Tampa, Florida.

With hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria hitting some of the most popular boating areas, show organizers decided it was important to have a panel of experts share their advice and guidance on how recreational marine boaters and businesses should approach hurricane recovery. The session covered safety, legal and insurance considerations, as well as repair advice and electrical system concerns and post-storm security.

Moderated by Margaret Podlich, the 90-minute session featured presentations from James Cote (Cote Marine), Nigel Calder (Calder Enterprises), Brian Kane (Global Ocean Security Technology), Robert Smith (MYMIC), Ed Maurer (Suncoast), Lori Sousa (SeaLand Insurance), Jay Frechette (Starkweather & Shepley), Carl Wolf (Robson Forensics), Steve D’Antonio (Steve D’Antonio Marine Consulting Inc.), JB Currell (Gibco/Flexmold), Ron Reisner (R. Reisner & Associates), John Sprague (JHSprague Consulting, LLC), and Jules Massee (Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel LLP). Moderator: Margaret Podlich (MBP Consulting).

IBEX is offering a video recap of the hurricane session, as well as downloadable resources, which include derelict vessel removal, disaster assistance information, disaster relief contact list, post storm environmental resource permitting and an overview of MTA/NJ Hurricane Sandy Recover & Relief efforts.
