Two Industry Leaders Partner to Form US Marina Group

Jim Bronstien and Kevin Quirk, known in the industry for their experience and expertise in executive marina and boatyard management, oversight and analysis, have formed a new venture. US Marina Group (USMG), is a premier marina management company for marinas in the U.S. and abroad. Bronstein and Quirk each have 30 years of experience operating and/or owning marina and boatyard businesses including Bahia Mar, Pier 66, Rybovich, Saunders Yachtworks and Marina Pez Vela.

While Bronstien and Quirk each have their own active marine businesses, they decided to expand their activities and partner as third-party marina operators and advisors for developers, hotel owners, condominium associations and private equity investors. In the past year, USMG has taken on three new marinas both in the U.S. and abroad, as well as numerous advisory projects.

USMG is experienced in all aspects of operations, sales, marketing, customer service and financial controls, as well as marina and boatyard layout and design. The company specializes in revenue generation and the implementation of systems to control costs, maximizing assets and profitability. Their aim is to build relationships with clients and foster support for the development and growth of clients’ projects.

USMG also uses its subsidiary advisory and consulting arm, Marine Business Advisors (MBA) to work on other projects. MBA and USMG are active with other marina and boatyard projects in Miami, Connecticut, California, Texas, Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.

Quirk spent 25 years as vice president of marina operations for Huizenga Holdings and the Blackstone Group, which included seven resort marinas in Florida and the Caribbean.

For 20 years, Bronstein presided as owner of Rybovich, one of the largest boatyard, marina and custom boat manufacturing businesses in the U.S. He then directed Broward Yachts for two years, became a development partner in building Marina Pez Vela in Costa Rica, joined as shareholder/board chairman with Saunders Yachtworks in Alabama, and started Marine Business Advisors.

The pair’s new company has offices in both Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
