IYRS To Host Annual Career Day January 24

IYRS School of Technology & Trades will host its 20th Annual Career Day on Jan. 24, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event, which specializes in marine trades and modern manufacturing, will take place in Restoration Hall at IYRS, 449 Thames Street, Newport, Rhode Island.

IYRS Career Day is a hiring, networking and knowledge-sharing event that offers companies in the marine trades and modern manufacturing industries to meet job seekers who include IYRS students, alumni, and members of the greater community.

Attendees have the opportunity to learn about job opportunities, meet hiring managers and explore new businesses. Exhibitors can meet skilled individuals with hands-on experience in fields including boatbuilding and restoration, composites technology, marine systems and advanced manufacturing. All IYRS programs include an externship as part of the curriculum so that IYRS graduates leave with skills that they’ve applied in a workplace setting.

IYRS’s industry partners receive complimentary registration for Career Day and can recruit students through events like Lunch & Learns, site visits, or have a job posting shared through IYRS’s alumni newsletter. Industry Partners will have their organization’s logo displayed at the school and at events like the annual IYRS gala, which attracts more than 600 guests annually. IYRS School of Technology & Trades boasts strong graduation and placement rates among all four programs of study.
