Lake Travis Marina Back Open After Upgrades

After years of drought, water levels are nearly back to normal on Lake Travis, located west of Austin, Texas. Stretching more than 63 miles in length and up to 4.5 miles wide, Lake Travis is known for its breathtaking scenery and active boating lifestyle.

Hurst Harbor Marina has been part of the Austin waterfront community since the 1980s. In February 2022, its current owners took over with a clear vision to elevate the marina experience and create a welcoming, family-oriented destination. Soon after, the lake level dropped, and the cove surrounding the marina went dry for three years.

Even through the challenging conditions, progress continued behind the scenes. The owners partnered with Meeco Sullivan to prepare for the future of Hurst Harbor. Although the marina had existing Atlantic Meeco docks, it was time for a modern upgrade that matched the long-term vision of the property. Meeco Sullivan engineered and constructed brand-new docks, launching them a mile and a half away, where water levels allowed. Each dock was built, floated and delivered one at a time, so the marina would be fully ready when the lake returned.

Now that water levels have risen significantly, the new Meeco Sullican docks will offer superior strength, improved stability and a fresh, updated look. Wave attenuation surrounds the docks to cushion them from boat traffic and open-water energy, helping protect the marina for years to come.

In addition to the new slips, the marina offers dry storage with valet service, in-slip city water, electric and Wi-Fi, an onsite marine service center, boat pumpout, security, private restrooms and golf cart shuttle service from parking lots to the docks. The popular party platform is once again hosting gatherings, themed events and celebrations for slip renters.
