Marina Dock Age Presents the 2019 Marina of the Year Awards

On December 5, at The Docks Expo, Marina Dock Age magazine presented the 2019 Marina of the Year awards. Congratulations to Plum Branch Yacht Club in Plum Branch, South Carolina, the small marina winner, and the Port of Everett, in Everett, Washington, the large winner.

Each year, Marina Dock Age awards the Marina of the Year awards to two marinas (one small marina and large marina – 250 slips or more). The staff judges facilities on exemplary business practices in many categories, including business operations, facility improvements, advertising/marketing, environmental responsibility, community involvement and more.

The Marina of the Year winners were honored at a luncheon in Nashville last week at The Docks Expo. The award ceremony is also a chance for the winners to highlight their facilities and the best practices and traditions that won them the awards.

Plum Branch Yacht Club of Plum Branch, South Carolina is the Marina of the Year in the small marina category.

Plum Branch Yacht Club, operates on a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake with 147 wet slips, dry storage for 35 boats and 42 boat storage sheds. The marina became a concessionaire in 1996, when Dr. George Selfridge and Bea McClain were awarded a 20-year lease. The facility has grown for 23 years.
