National Marine Trades Council Appoints New Chair

Wendy Mackie, CEO of the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association & Composites Alliance, has been named chair of the National Marine Trades Council (NMTC). Mackie was appointed at the NMTC meeting in May in Rhode Island. Mackie is replacing Melissa Danko, executive director of the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, who completed her two-year term.

NMTC is an informal group of boating trade associations from across the country that meets twice annually to talk about boat show production, membership development and association management. The council has been meeting since 1972.

“I am honored to serve the National Marine Trades Council as Chairperson,” Mackie said. “NMTC has a long tradition of bringing industry leadership together to share best practices and foster partnership, comradery and communication across the national boating community. I am proud to be a part of that.”

“The NMTC meeting is one of the most important meetings that I participate in every year,” Danko said. “It was an incredible honor to chair the NMTC these past two years, and I am proud to be a part of such a hardworking group of leaders in our industry.”
