New Docking System for Fort Pierce Facility

Renovations are underway at Safe Harbor Harbortown Marina in Fort Pierce, Florida. For a recent dock overhaul, Marina Technologies (MTI) provided its aluminum System S-190 docks, while Bolchoz Marine Advisors performed design services and Brothers Construction conducted the demolition and installation. MTI’s modern aluminum frame fixed dock System S-190 docks with premium composite decking will replace the marina’s aging fixed frame timber docks.

“Our heavy aluminum-frame fixed dock system spans 16 feet between pile supports, compared to 10-foot spacing for timber systems, which significantly reduced the number of piles required, lowering both project costs and installation time,” said Bob Berry, vice president and project development manager at MTI. “Finger piers are notched around the boat lifts to allow closer access to the vessel from the dock. The 36-foot and 50-foot-long docks are 8 feet wide with 6-foot-wide finger piers. The docks and boat lifts share the new concrete piles, reducing costs and construction times.

The unique location of Safe Harbor Harbortown allows bridge-free access to Fort Pierce inlet and boasts a brand-new pool, shore-side dining, and a full event calendar. The project is slated for completion at the end of 2026.
