New Docking System for Palm City Yacht Club

Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club, located on the St. Lucie River in Palm City, Florida, now offers newly updated infrastructure and connectivity for its boaters. The club brought Marina Technologies (MTI) onboard to replace the aging fixed and floating docks at its three marina sites with MTI’s Model S-241, heavy-duty aluminum-framed system.

“The sites have significant exposure, particularly from the north and east, generating strong waves, which have given the docks a beating,” said Bob Berry, vice president of MTI.

The new dock system is designed for Category 2 hurricanes when fully loaded and Category 4 hurricanes when unoccupied. Pre-stressed concrete piles and aluminum crossbeams anchor the new dock system. With spans of up to 20 feet between pile supports, the solution greatly reduced the quantity of piles across the property. Wet slips are designed to accommodate vessels up to 80 feet in length, with many of the slips including new Hi-Tide Boat Lifts for vessels up to 40 feet long. Utilities include water, power, lighting, pumpout and fire suppression.

The marina also is constructing a shoreline boardwalk to provide connectivity between the club’s three marina locations as well as a vinyl sheet-pile wave attenuating wall under the main and T-docks. The project is slated for completion this summer.
