New President Takes Over at NMMA

Frank Hugelmeyer started his first day as president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) president delivering his inaugural industry address at this morning’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) annual Industry Breakfast & Awards Presentation in Tampa. Hugelmeyer succeeds Thom Dammrich, who spent 20 years as NMMA president and retired September 30 (see Dammrich’s farewell video here https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=kUMq90yUWpI).

During his IBEX address, Hugelmeyer reinforced NMMA’s commitment to two strategic priorities that would aid in the future health and success of the industry:

  1. ensuring a business-friendly environment through offense-focused advocacy;
  2. growing boating by attracting new and emerging consumers to the boating lifestyle.

Looking ahead, he added, “If we’re smart about how we strengthen our relationships in our nation’s capitols, if we support our customers at every turn, and if we embrace new ways to introduce consumers to the memorable, diverse outdoor experiences only available through boating, the future of our industry remains very bright.”
