North Carolina Marina Completes Expansion Project
Published on July 1, 2026A large expansion project is now complete at Portside Marina in Morehead City, North Carolina. Port 32 Marinas, LLC acquired the facility along the Intracoastal Waterway on Bogue Sound near Beaufort Inlet in 2024. The marina recently added 253 dry storage racks that are engineered and rated to withstand a Category 3 hurricane and accommodate vessels of 36 feet or less.
Twelve deepwater transient slips are now available for vessels of more than 125 feet long. To elevate concierge and storage logistics, Port 32 shipped an upgraded marine forklift and purchased a second marine forklift. Fueling capacity increased thanks to a new 6,000-gallon gasoline tank and a 12,000-gallon diesel tank. Safety and reliability improved through an electrical infrastructure overhaul, while landscaping and parking also received a makeover to better facilitate Port 32’s brand concierge service.
“Portside Marina is a cornerstone of our North Carolina presence, and this renovation reflects the depth of our commitment to the Morehead City boating community,” said Austin Schell, CEO of Port 32 Marinas. “Every enhancement we have made … is designed to give our members more confidence and more convenience for a more enjoyable time on the water.”
In addition to the recent improvements, Portside Marina also offers a ship’s store, marine repairs services and concierge service.
