North Carolina Rehabilitation Project

The town of Carolina Beach launched a $3.8 million rehabilitation project in the spring of 2022 after securing a contract with Evans and Sons Contracting. The project is scheduled to be completed this June. Funding arrived through a grant from The Golden Leaf Foundation, approved monies from FEMA, and the town’s commitment of America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Among the project improvements are new floating docks, a new steel sheet pile “anchored” bulkhead wall, an elevated walkway, and access piers. Following Phase 1, which focused on construction at the south side docks, Phase II will focus on the east side docks and is slated for completion this summer.
