Oasis Begins Management of Port Conneaut Marina

Oasis Marinas has officially begun operational management at Port Conneaut Marina in Conneaut, Ohio. This is the fifth property under the Oasis Marinas umbrella in the state of Ohio. Other facilities include Oasis Marinas at Port Lorain, Black River Wharf, North Coast Harbor Marina in Cleveland, and Oasis Marinas at Battery Park in Sandusky.

The Conneaut Port Authority board unanimously approved the management contract on July 28, which includes Port Conneaut Marina and the adjacent Conneaut Sandbar. Oasis’ main goal is to improve the boater experience and bring its expertise in hospitality to this community.

“The Conneaut Port Authority is excited for this public-private partnership with Oasis Marinas and looks forward to enhancing experiences for all boaters, visitors, residents, and employees,” said George Peterson, chairman of the Conneaut Port Authority. “Under this new partnership, the Port and Oasis will work together to expand on the quality of service and amenities provided at the Marina.”

Port Conneaut Marina, which has been rebranded to Oasis Marinas at Port Conneaut, can accommodate vessels up to 40’ and plans are in place to expand alongside dockage to accommodate much larger vessels in the near future. The marina has a public boat launch and fuel dock, and offers boat charters and kayak rentals on-site. The Sandbar in Conneaut Harbor, located next to the marina, is known for allowing cars to drive up to the shore during the season and take in the beauty of Lake Erie.

“Our team is delighted to work with the Conneaut Port Authority on this property. Conneaut is a great boating town and we look forward to activating the waterway even more for this community,” said Dan Cowens, CEO of Oasis Marinas.

Conneaut sits on the border between Cleveland, Ohio, and Erie, Pennsylvania. It is known for its Harbor District, which is home to local retail shops and dining establishments within a few blocks of the Lake Erie shoreline. The Conneaut Township Park, located just one mile from the marina, regularly hosts community events. With beaches, parks, shops, and local entertainment, Conneaut has the small-town charm and water-focused capabilities aimed at attracting boaters and families to Lake Erie.
