PIANC Publication Highlights MEDA Winners

PIANC’s Recreational Navigation Commission has released a new publication, ‘10 Years of the Marina Excellence Design ‘Jack Nichol’ Award (MEDA)’

The free publication is a collection of the MEDA award winning projects focusing on how the marinas provide a protected harbor and assorted amenities while preserving or enhancing the natural setting of the facility.

Named after the late John M. “Jack” Nichol, a U.S. Delegate to PIANCE and waterfront and marina engineer, the award was established in 2003 and annually recognizes marinas that show excellence in design both in function and in environmental sustainability. The facilities must be open to the public and have been operational for at least two years, but not more than 15 years.
