Pumpout Grants Available in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is accepting grant proposals from local governments, marinas, boatyards, yacht clubs and similar organizations for Clean Vessel Act funding to provide facilities to dispose of sewage from recreational boats

Funding Available: up to $50,000 per site is available for projects that construct, renovate, and/or install pumpouts and dump stations. Recipients will be reimbursed for 75 percent of the project cost.

Eligible recipients: local governments and privately or non-profit owned marinas, boatyards and yacht clubs. Sites more than 20 miles from the nearest pumpout facility on the same water body receive preference.

The application submission deadline is November 4. All eligible projects are typically funded, however state and federal approvals are required.
