Support West Marine’s BlueFuture Program

Each December, West Marine stores across North America raise thousands of dollars to support the nonprofit BlueFuture program. This month-long, holiday-inspired fundraiser asks for donations to help us get more kids out on the water. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit BlueFuture’s philanthropic efforts in the New Year.

This past year the BlueFuture program supported 27 youth-focused, community-focused organizations. These nonprofits share West Marine’s mission to get kids out on the water through boating, fishing, paddling and marine science.

During the 2020 Month of Giving, the hope is to raise enough funds so that more grants can be given to nonprofit groups—and impact the lives of even more children, particularly those in under-served areas.

As one of the world’s premiere waterlife outfitters, West Marine is committed to supporting and promoting healthy and vibrant marine habitats and sustainable fisheries, as well as to connecting future generations to the water through youth recreation and education initiatives.

Among BlueFuture’s first grants were 29 outstanding nonprofit organizations that teach sailing, powerboating, fishing, or boatbuilding skills; foster aquatic sustainability and conservation practices; or encourage learning in the marine sciences.
