The Wharf Marina Plans More Slips

Located along the Washington Channel of the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., the Wharf Marina offers more than 300 slips for boats of all sizes, including superyachts. It’s part of The Wharf, a mile-long neighborhood redevelopment that’s one of the city’s largest public-private developments.

With the strong demand for additional dockage, the Wharf Marina will be adding more than 230 slips as part of the Phase II development of the neighborhood. Cianbro will be the general contractor for the project, and Bellingham Marine will supply the concrete floating docks.

“The marina is being built in phases to accommodate the existing boats and landside schedule and sequencing,” said Michael J. Bruce, maritime development manager, The Wharf. “The east half of the marina began construction in 2017 and was completed and operational in Spring 2019. The west half of the marina will be constructed in 2021 and available for the spring season 2022.” Bruce said that all permits for the work are in hand with the exception of local permits for utility connections.

Slips at Wharf Marina are available for leasing long term and for transient boaters.
