U.S. Powerboat Show Has Record Year

The United States Powerboat Show, held over the weekend of October 12 to 15 in Annapolis, Maryland, reported its largest one-day attendance in the history of the show.

While the first two days were hampered by rain and flooding, Saturday’s attendance was up 4.8 percent and Sunday was nearly as busy. Overall exhibitor space rose by 17.3 percent.

Recognizing the impact that hurricanes Irma and Maria have had on the boating industry, the Annapolis Boat Shows launched “Hands Across the Transom for Hurricane Relief.” The effort raised $250,000 contributed by exhibitors, attendees and Annapolis businesses.

The show, spread across land and water, featured 573 boats from around the world, and nearly 500 marine and products lifestyle vendors.
