Washington Marina Receives State Funding

The Oak Harbor Marina in Washington recently secured $620,000 in state capital funds to repair its electrical infrastructure and renovate certain upland facilities.

The funding comes in the wake of a mainline electrical failure in spring 2024. An inspection revealed the marina’s E dock power also needed repair, specifically junction boxes and unsupported utility lines. The money also will apply to renovating 30-year-old restrooms and showers. The funding will update and repair the sewer infrastructure and modernize the plumbing, flooring and fixtures in the restrooms and showers.

“The marina is a staple in Oak Harbor, and these upgrades are an exciting step forward for our community,” Mayor Ronnie Wright said. “I want to thank Rep. Dave Paul and my team for making this happen for Oak Harbor.”

Oak Harbor Marina is located between Seattle and the San Juan Islands. The marina includes 420 slips, guest moorage, limited side-tie moorage and dry storage to accommodate 96 vessels. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, laundry, ice, fueling and key access security gates.
