BoatUS Foundation and Freedom Boat Club Partner to Offer “Intro to Boating”

The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water is joining Freedom Boat Clubs in Huntington Beach, California, and Pensacola, Florida, to offer affordable Intro to Boating courses taught aboard 21-foot powerboats.

Participants can choose the 9:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. start time for the three-hour course. The cost is $149 per person (participants must be at least 21 years old), and class size is limited to three students per vessel. The Huntington Beach course will be held on April 20 and 21, at the club’s location at 16360 Pacific Coast Hwy #212. The Pensacola course will be held Saturday, April 28 and 29, at the club’s location at 1901 Cypress Street.

Intro to Boating includes shifting and steering, basic docking, open-water handling and basic navigation. The courses give area residents the opportunity to try recreational boating, while seasoned boaters can refresh their skills before the summer boating season.
