Hurricane Harvey Sportfishing & Marine Industry Recovery Fund

Several members of the Houston Big Game Fishing Club board have formed a committee to manage the newly created Hurricane Harvey Sportfishing & Marine Industry Recovery Fund.

Monies raised will be used to aid individuals, families, and small businesses directly involved in the Texas offshore fishing and the marine industry as they work to recover from the damages incurred from Hurricane Harvey.

Outside of direct damage to property, the marine industry is also coping with potential pollution in the waters, as well as trees, logs and debris which are floating in the rivers and bays.

“Priority will be given to those individuals and businesses that are the lifeblood of the fishing community — captains, mates, service technicians, dockworkers, craftsmen and support businesses,” said the fund’s website.
