Miami Boat Show Closes Another Successful Year

The Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show™ closed its 77th year with increases in both attendees and boat sales. Held February 15 to 19, the show hosted 1,100 exhibitors with 1,400 boats on display, and a showcase of more than $3 billion in product. There were 97,391 attendees which was a 3 percent rise of 2017 numbers. Visitors came from 35 countries. This was the third year that the show was held on Virginia Key and featured park and ride opportunities using water taxis and shuttle bus transportation to and from the show and designated offsite locations.

New this year was the addition of Strictly Sail Miami, which moved to the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin to give attendees accessibility to both shows in one location. Another addition to this year was an all-inclusive VIP package that featured a luxury lounge and outdoor deck as well as special passes and promotions. More than 2,500 people purchased the VIP passes.

Show organizers estimate the boat show delivers an estimated $854 million to Florida’s economy.

The 2019 Miami International Boat Show will again be held over Presidents’ Day Weekend, February 14-18, at Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin.
