Nine Marinas in Canada Receive Blue Flag Designation

Nine marinas in Canada received the Blue Flag eco-certification recognizing each as maintaining high standards for water quality, environmental management and education, safety and amenities. The Blue Flag is administered in Canada by Environmental Defence and is managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education. The Blue Flag program also certifies beaches and has certified more than 4,000 beaches and marinas in 45 countries.

The nine marinas that have received the Blue Flag in Canada this year are Gibson’s Marina in British Columbia, the Halifax Waterfront, and the remainder Ontario-based marinas: Bluewater Marina, City of Barrie Marina, Colchester Harbour Marina, LaSalle Park Marina, Trent Port Marina, Grand Bend Marina and Port Franks Marina.
