November 2017 Editor’s Note: Thank you, thank you

Thank you to everyone that answered our newest survey on dock infrastructure and slip charges and services. Those results are in this issue, as an addition to our annual Buyer’s Guide, which is your annual resource to everything in the marina industry. It lists 837 companies in 63 different categories.

We’ll have more new product surveys for 2018 and an expanded editorial calendar with more topic and themes (boatyard/repair, innovative profit centers, software/technology) to expand on our regular product coverage.

And we’d love to hear more from you – the readers! I do occasionally get letters about articles and content readers like, but we’d love to hear from you about other topics we might be missing, important local trends or business practices that are important to you. Feel free to email me anytime, or connect with us on social media. We’re most active on our LinkedIn group, but you can also find us on Facebook and Twitter. We’d love to hear from you.

Next up on the surveys is our annual industry survey and our Trends Report. We have some statistics going back about eight years, and last year, we started compiling some of the trends and will add to that each year. Thanks to our marina participants who have made this survey and growing data possible. Look for that in the December issue.

Sign up for the Marina Dock Age newsletter. Our newsletter delivers the latest news straight to your inbox including breaking news, our exclusive content covering the marina and boatyard industry, new products, and much more.

I’ll also be reporting on the annual industry survey and some trends at the Docks Expo, held from December 5 to 7 at Music City Center in Nashville. We have a great lineup of education, exhibitors and social events.

We’ll also be presenting the Marina of the Year awards at Docks. Thank you so much to all the applicants. You make the job of choosing the winners really tough. It’s so hard, we’re looking for ways to expand on the awards next year and recognize more of you that really deserve it.

Wow, that’s a lot of thank yous. I guess I’m pretty grateful to the many readers who share their businesses with us, so we can help others, those that have helped us develop and promote our surveys, all the amazing facilities that take countless hours to apply for our Marina of the Year award, and all of you that have committed time and knowledge to our education program for the Docks Expo and beyond. I thank you, and you make the tough deadlines and all the hard work a pleasure. Thanks for supporting us. We hope we’re doing all we can to support you.
